Become a Geffrye Explorer and uncover more about the Almshouse buildings and gardens in our new outdoor location.
Free activities for families with children aged 2-11 staffed by friendly Activity Assistants.
Visit the cart to find an exciting array of things to make and do.
Use quizzes and trails to investigate this new outdoor space or get hands on with a range of craft activities.
Go on an adventure across the garden with a Sam the Dog backpack. The packs are filled with a range of multisensory activities. Use a pair of binoculars to help Sam spot birds and much more.
Pick up a picnic hamper and hold a pretend tea party in the garden. Discover more about the history of tea, tell stories and play games with your guests.
Things to note:
- Geffrye Explorer activities take place outside and are weather dependant.
- The main museum is closed for a transformation project; this includes the café. However, there is plenty of space on the lawn to bring and enjoy your own picnic.
- Toilets and baby changing facilities are available.
- All activities are free, there is no need to book.
