Why support us?
The Geffrye is a registered charity and the gifts we receive help to ensure we can keep the Geffrye inspiring for the 120,000 people who visit and take part each year. Your support will help us to continue to care for our 300-year-old almshouses, and our collections, archives and gardens – which explore the home through inspirational exhibitions and award-winning learning programmes.
Unlocking the Geffrye
We want to open up the Geffrye for all our visitors and the local community. So we have embarked on a major capital project which will develop our existing buildings and create new spaces - this will mean your experience will be transformed and the Geffrye will be protected and preserved for generations to come. Read more about our exciting development plans here.
To deliver this ambitious £18m project, we have already raised £17m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, trusts and foundations and individuals. Donate now to help us to raise the balance of £1m. Your support will mean the Geffrye will be an even better and more inspiring place for all our visitors, with much more to see, do and get involved with. Read more about our development plans here.
