The Geffrye is set in beautiful 18th-century almshouse buildings surrounded by tranquil gardens, which provide a much-needed green space in the inner city and a welcoming space for visitors.
We are sorry but dogs are not permitted inside the gardens, unless they are guide dogs.
The front gardens remain open while the main museum is closed until spring 2020 for our transformational development project.
Front garden opening hours
Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.45pm
20 July closed all day; access only for restored almshouse tours via the north gate.
