Easter Holidays: Spring is in the Air

Tuesday 4 - Friday 7 April 2017, 10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm. Free

Celebrate the new season. Decorate plant pots, make scented herb bags and create garden animals from clay.

Nursery Rhyme Time – Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary - for ages 2 - 5 years

10.30 - 11.30am and 12 - 1pm (16 places available)

Explore the flowers of spring in this interactive storytelling and craft session.

Plant-tastic Gardeners - for ages 5 and over

10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Paint your own plant pot and sow seeds to grow at home.

Bumblebee Puppets - for ages 8 and over

2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Visit the museum beehives and make a buzzing bumblebee hand puppet.

Easter Garlands - for ages 11 and over

2 - 4pm (14 places available)

Create an Easter garland using seasonal flowers and foliage to hang in your home.

Spring Kings and Queens - for all ages

Drop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm (20 places available)

Make a glorious garden crown fit for a spring King or Queen.

Digital Museum Trails - for ages 5 - 14 years

Drop in anytime between 2 - 4.30pm

Explore the museum, complete a trail and collect your prize from the quiz desk!


Wednesday 5 April

Nursery Rhyme Time – April Showers - for ages 2 - 5 years

10.30 - 11.30am and 12 - 1pm (16 places available)

Learn about the weather and hunt for eggs in this interactive storytelling and craft session.

Mini-beast Dome - for ages 5 and over

10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Go on a bug hunt and make models of your favourite mini beasts in their ideal dome home.

Beautiful Beeswax Candles - for ages 8 and over

2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Learn how to roll a beeswax candle and decorate a candle holder to display it at home.

Sweet Dips - for ages 5 - 8 years

2 - 4pm (14 places available)

Make a delicious honey drink and decorate your own glass and coaster to drink from.

Explore springtime in the garden in this interactive storytelling and craft session.

Edible Flowerpots - for ages 5 and over

10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Create a recycled plant pot with giant insects and plant it with edible flowers.

Cheeky Chicken Egg-cups - for ages 8 and over

2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Make a chicken head and feet-shaped egg-cup from clay to cheer up breakfast time!

Natural Selfie - for ages 11 and over

2 - 4pm (14 places available)

Craft a self-portrait inspired by and made from natural materials!


Friday 7 April

Nursery Rhyme Time – A Spring Clean - for ages 2 - 5 years

10.30 - 11.30am and 12 - 1pm (16 places available)

Take part in some cleaning fun in this interactive storytelling and craft session.

Clay Animals - for ages 5 and over

10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Make a garden animal from clay and a handsome habitat for them to live in.

Aromatic Accessories - for ages 8 and over

2 - 4pm (24 places available)

Create scent-sational magnets and badges inspired by the gardens.

Spring Puppets - for all ages

Drop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm (20 places available)

Make a jack-in-the-box to give friends and family a spring surprise.

Digital Museum Trails - for ages 5 - 14 years

Drop in anytime between 2 - 4.30pm

Holiday activities are for children aged 2-16 and are free for individuals and their families. 

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes before the activities start. All children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.


May Half-Term Holidays: Patterns, Patterns, Patterns!

Tuesday 30 May - Friday 2 June 2017, 10.30am - 12.30pm and 2 - 4pm. Free

Use your favourite patterns from the museum and gardens to create stunning stained glass, wacky wallpaper and patterned prints. Celebrating Chelsea Fringe.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes before the activities start. All children aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.


Visit Geffrye Explorers for our children's activities that are available every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

All activities are free and are for individual children and families and are suitable for children aged 5 -16 years old. All workshops are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes before the workshop begins. All children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
