Saturday Specials and Family Days


Family activities at the Geffrye Museum

On the first Saturday of every month the Geffrye offers a range of fun activities, including quizzes (all ages) and creative crafts (suitable for young people aged 5 - 11). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes prior to the workshop.

Bake biscuits and decorate a box to take them home in.

Light Up Your Life

  • Tuesday 25 – Friday 29 October 2010, 10.30am – 12.30pm and 2.00 – 4.00pm


Light has been used for centuries to bring warmth and atmosphere into the home and festivities. This week of workshops will be inspired by candles, gasoliers and lamps found in the Geffrye’s period rooms, Sitting the Light Fantastic – a new light installation in the gardens, and festivals such as Hanukkah, Christmas, Halloween, Fireworks night and Winter Solstice.

Free Admission. Workshop places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis 30 minutes in advance. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
