Visiting and Booking

The Geffrye is located in Shoreditch just minutes from the City of London. It is easily reached by public transport.
Admission to the museum's eleven period rooms, special exhibitions and herb and period gardens is free.
Visitors may take photographs without a tripod for personal use. Commercial photography must be approved in advance.
Opening Hours
Museum:
The museums's eleven period rooms and special exhibitions are open at the following times:
- Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm
- Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays 12 - 5pm
- Closed Mondays (unless Bank Holiday), Good Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day
- The restaurant is open until 4.45pm
- The shop is open during museum hours
Restored Historic Almshouse:
- The restored historic almshouse is in the south wing of the museum buildings and has it's own entrance. Tours are conducted by museum volunteers and take place at specific times each month.
- It is open on the first Saturday of the month.
- Admission is by timed entry at 11.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm. (4.00pm tours from May to September only).
- Tickets are £2.00 for adults with free admission for children under 16.
- The restored historic almshouse is also open on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at selected times. We encourage group bookings on these days and therefore recommend that individuals check with the Bookings Officer on 020 7739 9893 before visiting in case these sessions are fully booked.

Gardens:
- The herb garden and period garden rooms are open from 1 April to 31 October during museum hours.
