Why support us?
The Geffrye is a registered charity and the gifts we receive help to ensure we can keep the Geffrye inspiring for the 100,000 people who visit and take part each year. Your support will help us to continue to care for our 300-year-old almshouses, and our collections, archives and gardens – which explore the home through inspirational exhibitions and award-winning learning programmes.
Unlocking the Geffrye
We want to open up the Geffrye for all our visitors and the local community. So we are embarking on a major capital project which will develop our existing buildings and create new spaces - this will mean your experience will be transformed and the Geffrye will be protected and preserved for generations to come.
In May 2015, the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded the museum a grant of £11m to support these exciting plans to develop the museum for the future. This is part of a £15m capital development for which we are now actively fundraising the balance of £4m. Support our plans for the future by donating now. Read more about our development plans here.
