Young People

A regular programme of art, craft, design and digital sessions takes place in the evenings, at weekends and during school holidays, and are suitable for young people aged 11-24. Recent sessions have included digital photography, making your own t-shirts, cushions and accessories. Special projects provide opportunities to explore the collections, displays, gardens and core themes in more detail and usually result in displays or public performances. Projects have included making a sound scape for the museum, mosaic workshops, a drama project exploring the lives of the almshouse pensioners, working with storytellers to develop and lead tours of the museum and working as part of a team to create a large-scale sculpture inspired by natural habitats. All activities are free. Visit the What’s On pages for the latest events and activities.

We also run a Youth Advisory Panel, a young volunteers scheme and special projects in partnership with local youth organisations, and much much more! Click on the links above to find out how you or your group can get involved.
