Special Education Needs

SEN session at the Geffrye
We welcome pupils from special schools of all ages and abilities.
Sessions for pupils with Special Educational Needs aim to encourage communication and cognitive skills and develop auditory and visual memory. The museum has an extensive handling collective of historic and multi-sensory objects, including sounds and smells.
This year we are pleased to offer the following sessions to support the curriculum:
- Sensing Tudors
- Sensing Victorians
- Sensing the Twentieth Century
- Sensing Gardens
The sessions can be adapted to suit pupils with all types of learning needs. We have experience of working with PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD and other complex needs. You can download our Schools SEN Programme 2011/2012 here.
Please ring 020 7739 9893 to discuss the special educational needs of your pupils and how we can work together to provide the best individual session for your class. We look forward to seeing you this term.
