Secondary and post-16 sessions

Haggerston Secondary School in the Edwardian period gardens

Haggeston year 10 Art Group in the period gardens

We offer unique resources for Secondary students, teachers and lecturers and support a variety of work at Key Stages 3 - 5, including a core programme for History, Art and Design, Design and Technology and English in addition to our 'tailor made' sessions.

Your group will be able to contextualise primary source material and handling objects in front of our period rooms and extend their knowledge through investigation and creative activity in our purpose-built studios.

Our experienced team of museum professionals, historians and artists offer inspiring and interactive sessions which provide the perfect opportunity to enhance and support the curriculum and school-based projects.

Sessions can be adapted to suit your groups’ requirements and we are happy to fit in with your approach if you are working on a particular project. We are usually able to host an entire year-group by rotating activities around the museum and gardens. Alternatively we can arrange access to our archive for smaller study groups.

We welcome local schools, who may wish to use the Geffrye as a case-study for local History or Geography modules. (Local schools may have access to the Geffrye site and resources free of charge at this time).

Contact the Education Officer for Schools to discuss your requirements: Emma Dunn / Janice Welch on 020 7739 9893 or by email: edunn@geffrye-museum.org.uk
