The Fire of London

After the Fire

Room comparison for KS 1 and 2

1695 Room photographed by John Hammond

Our late 17th Century room is the perfect setting to learn about what happened in the fire of 1666 and the subsequent re-building of London. Pupils will compare the differences between the late Tudor hall and the parlour of 1695 and use historical sources and evidence to develop their knowledge of the period. There will be an opportunity to use a quill pen and explore the museum's collection of replica 17th Century artefacts.

This session supports QCA Unit 5 'How do we know about the Great Fire of London?'
