The Geffrye supports teachers in delivering the new National Curriculum from September 2014.  Our collection is ideally suited to fostering an understanding of chronology and context. New sessions have been devised for all year groups. Preview the Primary sessions here.

We will be offering Inset sessions for teachers who wish to familiarise themselves with different historical periods.

Enjoy a day stepping back through the centuries in the Geffrye's period living rooms and gardens with your class.

All our schools sessions are led by the museum's experts, and our small scale and direct approach make us very accessible for school groups of all types, ages and abilities, including special schools.

We've been supporting teachers with learning outside the classroom for over 20 years and offer a range of primary school sessions to engage and inspire children to explore the wealth of historical and cultural influences which affect our homes and lives today. Our staff lead learning in the galleries and gardens, and include practical elements in all our sessions.

Please ring 020 7739 9893 to discuss the educational and special needs of your children and how we can work together to provide the best session for your class. We look forward to welcoming you this year.
