Women attending an Asian Women's family day at the Geffrye Museum

Visitors to a family day organised by the Asian Women's Project

The Geffrye offers a wide range of activities delivered in partnership with local community organisations. Notable projects and partnerships include the West Indian Front Room in 2005-06, which culminated in a major exhibition that was co-curated by Michael McMillan, and ongoing programmes such as the Asian Women’s Project and Discover Hackney. We also worked extensively with youth groups and community groups as part of Stories of the World: London, a major project at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Discover Hackney is a partnership of ten Hackney-based organisations who share common goals around increasing the use and knowledge of the borough’s rich heritage and built environment. We work together on projects which increase learning and a sense of pride about the various strands that make up the rich heritage of Hackney’s diverse communities. Discover Hackney offers a year-round programme of events and projects. Please visit the Discover Hackney website for the latest information.
