20th Century FurniturePage 1

Throughout the century, people tended to use fewer pieces of furniture in the living room, creating an impression of light and space. Modern furniture was simple in form with little decoration. This was in contrast to the revival styles, such as Tudorbethan, which were especially popular in suburban homes in the 1930s. The three-piece suite, comprising a sofa and two armchairs, was introduced in the 1920s and 30s.
